It happens only once a year — three days of special small plate menus at Asheville’s independent and chef-owned restaurants – and now is the time to sign up for the 2015 Asheville Small Plate Crawl http://www.ashevillesmallplatecrawl.com/crawl/.
From Tuesday, February 24th through Thursday, February 26th, chefs from more than 20 of Asheville’s award-winning restaurants will be showcasing their cuisine and talent with menu items ranging from $3 to $8. “Crawlers” are automatically entered into prize drawings that include an overnight package at The Grand Bohemian Hotel and gift cards at participating restaurants. Because small plates taste delicious regardless of the weather, this is a rain-or-shine event.
Who’s participating this year: The Buchi Bar, Carmel’s Kitchen & Bar, Chai Pani, Chestnut, Creperie Bouchon, Curate, French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Isa’s Bistro, Jerusalem Garden Café, King James Public House, Lexington Avenue Brewery, The Lobster Trap, The Market Place, Mela, Nightbell, Posana Café, Sante Wine Bar, Strada Italiano, Tupelo Honey Café, Zambra, Buffalo Nickle, Sunny Point Café and the Red Stag Grill.
An AIRpass is the easiest way to experience the Crawl. AIRpasses are available at http://www.ashevillesmallplatecrawl.com/crawl/airpass-2/. The AIRpass is not required, but it contains important details such as addresses and hours of participation for all of the restaurants participating in the 2015 Small Plate Crawl.
NEW this year – Scan QR Codes with mobile devices. Register ahead of The Crawl or the first time you scan a code during the event at ChekTrek.com http://chektrek.com/. Servers will present you with a QR Code to scan for validation when paying at each restaurant. Free QR Code applications are available for download. We recommend “QR Code Reader” by Scan, Inc.
If you don’t have access to a mobile device but want to be registered for the prize drawing, simply ask for a “Takeaway Card” at each restaurant. Enter the unique code on each card later on the Asheville Small Plate Crawl website http://www.ashevillesmallplatecrawl.com/crawl/. Every time you scan a QR Code or enter a Code manually you are entered in the prize drawing, so the more restaurants you visit, the better your chances of winning. Prizes are listed on the Crawl website. Winners will be contacted by email.
